Mahindra, the Indian UV giant which is eyeing a complete makeover of itself, is working on a new logo that will debut along with the brand's flagship offering, Mahindra XUV700. However, the final logo could receive few tweaks before its official introduction. The new logo would replace Mahindra’s now 21-year-old logo that debuted in 2000. The current logo was used for the first time in 2002 on the Scorpio, following a reorganisation of the brand by then Managing Director and current Executive Chairman, Anand Mahindra.
The upcoming XUV700 which is most likely to make its global debut on August 15, 2021, will become the flagship offering in the XUV range and will be positioned above the XUV500. According to reports, the three-row SUV will go on sale with segment-best features such as an air purifier, largest-in-segment panoramic sunroof, driver drowsiness detection system, Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), auto booster headlamps, flush-fitting door handles, a twin-touchscreen display, climate control, wireless charging, and Android Auto and Apple Carplay support.

The upcoming Mahindra XUV700 is likely to get two engine choices – a 2.0L turbo-petrol and a 2.2L turbo-diesel developing around 190 hp and 150 hp respectively. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. The Indian UV giant seems to be on a roll these days. Recently the company hired former Tata Motors’ design head Pratap Bose, who is set to play a transformative role as the company has planned as many as 12 new models for the Indian market, which are scheduled to arrive over the next five years.
